Photo and video consents
At SDN Children’s Services we use photographs, audio recordings and videos of children, families, staff and others connected to SDN to communicate the work we do.
From time to time, our SDN centres and preschools participate in photoshoots where professional photographers capture images of children playing and learning with peers and educators in their familiar environment.
If your child’s centre has a photoshoot, we’ll ask you for permission before your child participates.
If you give consent, photographs, audio recordings and/or video may be used for:
- SDN publications such as our Annual Report, newsletters, brochures and information booklets
- SDN’s website and our social media pages
- Staff and family newsletters
- Reports on SDN’s work to funding bodies
- Displays associated with conference presentations.
SDN takes privacy very seriously and we will not under any circumstances sell photographs, audio recordings or videos to individuals or agencies. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more detailed information.
SDN uses the following safeguards to protect, as far as possible, the use of photographs, audio recordings and videos:
- SDN does not name children in photographs, audio recordings or videos
- The Terms and Conditions for use of SDN’s website states, ‘With regards to images, videos and audio on this website, no image, video or audio is to be copied or reproduced under any circumstance.’
- Even where consent has been given for the use of photographs, audio recordings or videos, SDN will comply with any subsequent request for these to no longer be used wherever practicable.
We appreciate the support of families who are able to give SDN consent to use their child’s photographs.
